What is Sports Massage

  • Sports massage is the application of swedish massage techniques and more advanced, deeper techniques to loosen and relax tight muscles, encourage healing of damaged tissue and regain elasticity of scar tissue by breaking down restrictive adhesions.

  • Sports massage uses application of body weight through the fingers, knuckles and forearm to release tension in muscles. This tension can be brought on by:

  • Daily stress factors, such as driving and sitting in one position at a desk all day.

  • Poor exercise technique, improper warm up, poorly fitting training shoes.

  • Over training

  • Emotional Stress

The benefits of sports massage are:

  • Regain full movement of joints

  • Overall tension is reduced
